Dunkirk Foundation offers scholarships
Taking Note
The Dunkirk Foundation is accepting applications for two scholarship funds.
The estate of Betty Gaunt established the Marilee and Gayle Gaunt Memorial Scholarship fund for non-traditional students who live in the 47336 zip code pursuing higher education.
The estate of Ella Cunningham established the Ella and Irene Cunningham Scholarship fund. Scholarships from this fund will give preference to female students pursuing a degree in education or business. Applicants this year must also be non-traditional students and reside within the Dunkirk city limits.
Application forms are available at the Dunkirk City Building or can be downloaded from the Dunkirk Foundation Facebook page. They may also be requested via email to [email protected] or from any foundation board member.
Applicants must submit the application form along with a statement/essay on how the scholarship will be used to achieve educational goals. Three letters of recommendation are also required, and applicants must take part in an interview on July 28, in Dunkirk.
Each applicant will be scored on the basis of the statement of goals and the strength and impact of recommendation letters, financial need, and the interview with the scholarship committee.
Questions about the process should be directed to Jackie Davis, scholarship chair, at (765) 748-2617 or [email protected].
The deadline for applications is July 22.
