Capsule Reports
Backing accident
A Bryant woman was involved in a backing accident Saturday afternoon in Jackson Township.
Jalayne R. Ullom, 52, 7609 N. 500 West, was backing her 2013 Ford Escape out of her driveway and did not see a vehicle parked behind.
The Escape struck the second vehicle, a 2016 Honda Civic, which is registered to David B. Parfitt of 504 JFK Avenue, Loogootee.
Damage in the 4:30 p.m. accident is estimated between $2,500 and $5,000.
Fraud
A Portland woman reported a case of fraud to Portland police Saturday morning.
Linda Sheffer, 7168 S. 200 East, said she has an account at Crossroads and found out Saturday that someone had used her credit card and debit card information at Scott’s Food and Pharmacy in Fort Wayne.
She was advised to speak with an investigator this week about the incident.
Burglary
A burglary was reported in Portland at 10:37 p.m. Monday.
Megan J. Jinez, 908 N. Franklin St., told Portland police that someone broke into the house through the garage with a hammer and stole $2,600 in cash from the property.
Theft
A drill press was stolen from a house at 827 E. Water Street in Portland sometime Saturday evening. The drill press is valued at $150. No forced entry was found.
