Jay County is one meet away from another perfect season.
The Jay County Summer Swim Team won 66 of 80 events Tuesday for a commanding 809-238 victory over Bellmont at Portland Water Park.
The host team won 19 of the 20 relay events and 47 of the 60 individual races to move to 7-0 on the season.
Maddy Snow, Mara Bader and Elayna Paro led the way as triple-event winners. Snow, competing in the 8-and-younger age group, was first in the 25-meter butterfly, 100 individual medley and 25 breaststroke events. Bader earned wins in the 100 freestyle, 50 backstroke and 50 freestyle, while Paro was victorious in the 50 butterfly, 100 IM and 50 breaststroke. Both Bader and Paro swam in the 11-12-year-old division.
A total of nine swimmers won two events each, including Maria Laux and George Clemmons (8-and-younger); Sophie Saxman, Hanna Laux and Joseph Dow (9-10-year-old); Dorane Beiswanger, Konner Sommers and Ben Nichols (11-12-year-old); and Alex Bader, Jason Minnich and Sok Vormohr (15-and-older).
Picking up individual victories were Skylynn Powell, Morgan DeHoff, Creed Beiswanger, Ashlyn Dow, Eliza Bader, Erica Hathaway, Rieley Brewster and Emma James. Also swimming to wins were Kearston Myers, Juan Wiggins, Ben Strausburg, Griffin Mann, Sophie Bader, Anne Vormohr, Elizabeth McDowell and Luke Nichols.
Jay County improves to 7-0 on the year, and can wrap up its fourth straight undefeated season on Thursday when it travels to Winchester to take on the Randolph County Sharks at 6 p.m.
