Local notes
St. Clair 5K slated for Saturday
The Mercer County 5K Challenge heads to Fort Recovery for the St. Clair Run/Walk on Saturday.
Registration opens at 7:15 a.m. with the race to begin at 8:30 a.m. by cannon fire.
Cost is $20 with a shirt, $12 without a shirt, and $10 for those 10-and-younger without a shirt. Early registration must be completed by Friday.
The cost to register on the day of the race is $15, and shirts may be available on a limited basis.

Girls hoops camp is July Monday
The Fort Recovery High School girls basketball team will be hosting a basketball camp for girls in second and third grades.
The camp will run from 4 to 6 p.m. Monday through 15 at the middle school gym.
Cost is $30, and checks should be made payable to Fort Recovery Girls Basketball. Each player will receive a t-shirt and basketball.

Football camp is July 18
The Jay County High School football team will be hosting a camp from July 18 through 21.
The camp will run from 5:30 to 7 p.m. each day.
Cost is $20, and it includes a t-shirt.

Mayor to host golf outing
Portland mayor Randy Geesman is hosting a charity golf outing on July 22 at Portland Golf Club.
Cost is $240 per foursome, and it includes prizes, lunch and a 50/50 drawing.
Tee time is noon, and the deadline to register is July 15.

Starfires hosting football camp
The South Adams High School football team is hosting a youth football camp in July.
The camp will be from July 25 to July 27 at Starfire Field, and is open to boys who will be in first through sixth grades for the 2016-17 school year.
First through third graders will be from 5 to 6 p.m., with fourth through sixth graders from 6 to 7 p.m.
Cost is $20 per camper.
