ole struck
A Pennville woman struck a pole with her vehicle in the parking lot of Wal-Mart Wednesday evening.
Latrisha B. McEwen, 22, 245 E. Pleasant St., told Portland police she hit the pole, but did not provide any contributing details.
McEwen was treated for injuries at the scene, which included minor bleeding and elbow and lower arm injuries.
She was driving a 2012 Dodge Ram 1500, which is registered to her.
Damage in the 7:30 p.m. accident is estimated between $5,000 and $10,000.
Deer strike
A Decatur woman struck a deer with her vehicle this morning in Penn Township.
Janice Stuart, 59, 1034 Winchester St., was traveling north on county road 650 West when a deer ran into the roadway. She was unable to avoid the deer with her 2010 Ford Fusion.
Damage in the 5:43 a.m. accident is estimated between $1,000 and $2,500.
Gasoline theft
An alleged gasoline theft was reported Wednesday morning in Portland. The theft took place at 11:15 p.m. Tuesday at Pak-A-Sak, 1300 N. Meridian Street. The gas taken amounted to $10.
Police were advised a short stocky individual with brown hair driving a Chrysler 300 carried out the theft. But when police ran a license plate number provided, it returned to a 2011 White Audi.
A manager with the convenience store told Portland police he’d have to speak with a clerk to go back over the details.
