Fairgrounds crash
Two vehicles were involved in an accident Tuesday night at Jay County Fairgrounds.
Michael J. Shinnamon, 43, 12419 Andrews Road, Wimauma, Florida, was traveling east near the northeast section of the fairgrounds when his Ford F250 collided with a 2000 Chevrolet Express driven by Dean L. Burgess, 27, 118 East St., Bryant.
The Chevrolet van is registered to Carl D. Burgess, same address as driver.
Both drivers said the other was at fault.
Burgess said Shinnamon was eating while driving and not paying attention while Shinnamon said Burgess was driving too fast.
Damage in the 7 p.m. accident is estimated between $1,000 and $2,500.
Bicycle stolen
A bicycle was reported stolen Tuesday in Portland.
Jeremy Roessner, 204 W. Seventh St., told Portland police that his son’s black 20-inch Diamondback bicycle with rear pegs was taken from the porch of his residence.
He said the bicycle was last seen Monday evening and it was gone by 6 a.m. Tuesday. Its value was unavailable.
