Pioneer Packaging completed its undefeated season Thursday with an 11-3 victory over Ponderosa Steakhouse in Portland Junior League’s Rookie baseball division.
It finished the year 12-0, and will be the top seed in next week’s post season tournament.
Maddox Huffman led Pioneer with two doubles and a single, with Jayden Comer and Dominick Bright each adding a double and two singles. Max dues chipped in with three singles, and Carson Busick, Brayton Kinney and Xavien Maxwell all recorded two singles. Sam Wiggins and Bentley Comer each tallied a base hit.
Nick Snow led Ponderosa with two singles and a double. Grant Fennig added two singles, while Mitchell Byrum, Gavin Byrum, Chase Ninde and Gavin Tow all had a single.
Laux leads All Circuit
Nick Laux was 5-for-5 with a double and four runs scored on Thursday, leading All Circuit Electrical to a 16-9 victory over Williams Auto Parts in PJL’s Rookie baseball division.
Drew Schemenaur and Jayden Harrell were both 4-for-4. Shemenaur had a double, scored four times and drove in three runs. Harrell also had a double to go with his three runs and two RBIs. Grant Wendel hit a triple on his way to a 4-for-5 effort at the plate. He also scored four times.
Joe Geesaman and Izzy McAbee were both 3-for-3 in leading Williams in the loss. Geesaman smacked a double and scored three times, while McAbee scored twice and drove in a run. Wes Wenning hit a double and tallied two RBIs, and Max Klopfenstein also had two RBIs.
MainSource wins
MainSource Bank defeated Inman U-Loc 15-2 on Wednesday in the Willie Mays division of Portland Junior League.
Brady Davis had a double and a single while driving in four runs to lead MainSource. Bryce Wenk notched two singles and an RBI, while Koby Lewellen and Jayden Hartzell each had a single and an RBI. Kenny Carducci chipped in with two RBIs.
Dawson Hundley hit a home run for Inman.
