Library activities set for July

Taking Note

Summer activities continue at Jay County Public Library.
A preschool program will be at 10 a.m. Friday and Kids Crafts will be at 1 p.m. The library will be closed on July Fourth.
The last day to turn in Summer Challenge activity cards is Saturday.
The grand finale event for anyone completing the Summer Challenge will be held at 6 p.m. on July 7 in the Jay County High School Auxiliary Gym. There will be games, activities and healthy snacks and prizes and t-shirts will be given.
KiPS continues from 9 a.m. to noon on Tuesday and on July 19, 23 and 26.
Lego Brick Free Build will also be held from 2 to 7 p.m. each Tuesday in July.
Kindergarten students who will be attending Jay Schools and will ride the bus are invited for a trial run.
Children and their parents or caregiver can board a school bus at 10 a.m. on Aug. 5 to an area school where they will visit a classroom, listen to stories and play at the playground.

Mobile hotspots will be available for check-out beginning July 11 for 24 hour access to library resources and websites, to supplement your home internet, make a presentation on YouTube, take an online class, to Skype or use at a business conference.
Clubs meeting this month will include the JayCPL Book Club at 7 p.m. on Monday, July 18. They will discuss “The Supremes at Earl’s All-You-Can-Eat” by Edward Kelsey Moore.
Writer’s Guild will meet from 5 to 8 p.m. on Monday, July 25 and Hook & Needles Club will meet from 5 to 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, July 26.

In memory of Carl Linn by Bob and Rose Clamme were “Dogs” by Emily Gravett, “The Great Depression for Kids” by Cheryl Mullenbach and “Baseball Then to Wow” by Sports Illustrated for Kids.

Graduates
Two Fort Recovery students recently graduated from the University of Dayton (Ohio).
Tyler Hart earned a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering.
Bernard Post earned a bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering.
Nicole Pottkotter of Fort Recovey graduated from Ohio Northern University with a Doctor of Pharmacy degree.
Two Fort Recovery students recently graduated from The Ohio State University.
Makayla Grover earned an associate of arts.
Kent Stammen, cum laude, with a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering.

President’s list
Kyle Siegrist, rural Portland, was named to the President’s List at Trine University in Angola.
