Jay County’s girls have yet to lose.
The boys fell back below .500.
Jay County’s middle school swim teams split with the Bluffton Tigers on Thursday at Jay County High School.
The girls won all 12 events in a 203-106 victory. The boys picked up wins in four races in a 163-139 loss.
Rieley Brewster, Ashlyn Dow and Eliza Bader all earned two individual victories and combined to help all three winning relay teams.
Brewster claimed victories in the 200-yard freestyle and 50 butterfly with times of 2 minutes, 22.56 seconds, and 32.26 seconds respectively. Dow swam to a time of 1:00.03 in the 100 freestyle and won the 100 backstroke in 1:11.66.
Bader’s time of 27.29 seconds won the 50 freestyle, and she also finished first in the 400 freestyle in 4:44.75.
Bader and Brewster joined Erica Hathaway and Jenna Dunfee for a victory in the 200 medley relay (2:12.59). Lillian Clemmons, Hathaway, Brewster and Dow won the 200 freestyle in 1:56.67, and Kaitlyn Hicks teamed with Dow, Bader and Clemmons for a time of 3:07.27 and a first-place finish in the 300 freestyle relay.
Also earning individual victories for the girls team, which moved to 5-0 on the season, were Elayna Paro (100 breaststroke – 1:22.92), Leah Hummel (diving – 93.75) and Hathaway (100 individual medley – 1:15.4).
Juan Pablo Wiggins was the lone dual winner for the Jay County boys (2-3). He claimed victories in the 50 freestyle (29.45) and the 400 freestyle (5:05.41).
With a time of 2:33.19, Chase McFarland won the 200 freestyle.
Matthew Minnich, Tait Longsworth, Wiggins and McFarland teamed for a victory in the 200 freestyle in 2:06.96.
