Museum to have its meeting on Saturday

Museum of the Soldier will have its annual meeting Saturday at Arts Place in Portland. Doors open at 5:30 p.m. and dinner is at 6 p.m. Special guest will be William Robinson, one of the longest held Viet Nam POWs.

Aging conference
The LifeStream Services will have its 13th annual Aging Well Conference on Thursday, May 19, at the Ball State University Alumni Center.
Guest speakers will be Derek Daly, former Formula 1 and Indy car driver, and Dr. David Gobble, recognized by the National Wellness Institute as one of the top 100 wellness experts in the world.
The conference will include breakfast and lunch, educational exhibits and practical sessions about nutrition, technology, mental health, online banking and senior safety.
Registration will begin at 8 a.m. and the conference will conclude at 3:30 p.m.
The cost is $25 per person or $20 for groups of six or more and reservations must be made by May 11. Checks can be sent to LifeStream Services, P.O. Box 308, Yorktown, IN 47396. Be sure to note “Aging Well Conference” in the memo line.

Free breakfast
Swiss Village and the Berne Rotary Club are co-sponsoring the 26th annual Senior Breakfast at Swiss Village, 1350 W. Main St. in Berne, in honor of National Older Americans Month in May. The breakfast will be served from 7 to 9 a.m. Friday.
Free blood pressure checks will be done from 6:30 to 8:30 a.m. Other tests available will be the Chem 30 for $30, Chem 30+ TSH for $40, and PSA for $20.
Parking will be available at the main circle drive entrance or in the north parking lot

Touch-a-Truck
The second Touch-a-Truck event will be held at Swiss Heritage Village & Museum to celebrate the opening of the 2016 season.
Festivities will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at Swiss Heritage Village in rural Berne. There will be a car show, clowns, balloons and face painting.
Lutheran Air helicopter will participate with a fly-in at 11 a.m. and the Adams County K-9 unit will do a dog demonstration at noon. Lunch and tours will be available.
