Deer accident
A Pennville man’s car hit a deer Sunday afternoon in Noble Township.
Brian R. Homan, 34, 6285 N. 1025 West, told Jay County Sheriff’s Office he was traveling east on county road 300 North near county road 600 East when a deer jumped out of the north ditch. He said he could not avoid striking the animal with his 2013 Chevrolet Impala.
Damage in the 3:45 p.m. crash is estimated between $1,000 and $2,500.

Backing crash
A Bryant man’s truck backed into a parked vehicle Friday afternoon in the parking lot of MainSource Bank, 1511 N. Meridian St., Portland.
Michael L. Williamson, 18, 7879 N. 450 East, told a Portland police officer he was backing out of a parking space with his 1989 GMC truck and struck the 2000 Chevrolet Monte Carlo next to it.
The Chevrolet is registered to Leah E. Brewster, 1256 S. 825 West, Portland.
Damage in the 4:30 p.m. collision is estimated between $1,000 and $2,500.

Backing crash
A Bryant man backed into a parked vehicle with the truck he was driving Saturday at 9:04 a.m. in Wayne Township.
Randy P. Nichols, 62, 421 N. Hendricks St., told Jay County Sheriff’s Office he was backing up the 2015 Chevrolet Colorado he was driving in a private drive of 1868 W. 200 South and did not see a 1998 Honda C-RV parked behind him, striking the front bumper and door.
The Colorado is registered to Gelco Fleet Trust Advance Stores Company 3333 Hesper Road, Billings, Montana.
The Honda is registered to Peter B. Koons, 816 E. Walnut St., Portland.
Car hit
A Portland driver said his car was damaged at 3 p.m. Sunday while at his home at 1237 N. U.S. 27.
Shawn A. Day, 1237 N. U.S. 27 Lot 79, told Jay County Sheriff’s Office his 2006 Ford Fusion was struck by an unknown vehicle while it was parked in front of his residence Sunday.
Damage is estimated between $1,000 and $2,500.
