Capsule Reports
Portland Board of Zoning Appeals
A Portland business will stay put.
The Portland Board of Zoning Appeals on Tuesday accepted Pam and Wiley Mooneyhan’s request to withdraw their petition for a Type II home occupation special acceptance.
The couple had planned to move their business — Advanced Tax Service — to their home on county road 200 South but have since decided against that idea, which would have required the special acceptance. They will instead keep the business at its current site, 111 W. Main St., Portland.
“I’m very pleased they decided to leave their business in the central business district,” said board member Vicki Tague, who accepted the withdrawal along with Lee Newman and Ron May, with Larry Petro and Susan Schutz absent.
