McGinnis, Wenk lead Lions Club
Junior League roundup
Laci McGinnis and Maddy Wenk led the Lions Club to an 11-5 victory over Fisher Meats on Tuesday in Portland Junior League’s Minor softball division.
McGinnis had a double, a single and two RBIs, and Wenk had two hits, a pair of runs and three RBIs.
Dakota Chowning and Mallory Winner each scored twice. Savanah Luger, Zoe Romine and Brenna Bailey had one hit apiece.
Lauren Brewster led Fisher with two hits. Haley Cummins tallied one hit and two runs, with Brianna Zorn and Paige Ingram each adding one hit and scoring once. Brenna Haines chipped in with a run.
Masonic Lodge wins
In Major softball action of Portland Junior League, Masonic Lodge defeated Graphic Printing 13-4.
Justice Day paced the Masonic offense with a double. Kelsey Burden, Livie Maitlen and Madison Curtis each had singles.
Sydney Reedy hit a double for Graphic in the loss.
