Redkey crash
One driver was injured in a two-vehicle crash Thursday afternoon in Richland Township.
Ryan N. Williams, 16, 110 E. Sherman St., Redkey, was stopped at a stop sign at the intersection of county road 600 South (Main Street) and Indiana 67. As she crossed the intersection in the 2004 Dodge Caravan she was driving, a 2013 Freightliner, driven by Jason E. Hermosillo, 27, 13691 Indiana 14, Benton, Illinois, struck the passenger side of the van. The Caravan continued into a ditch and back on the road, and the van spun, colliding with the truck again before both vehicles came to a stop.
Williams suffered an injury to her head.
The Freightliner is registered to Schneider National Carriers, 7101 W. 17th Ave., Gary, Indiana.
The Caravan is registered to Chastity A. Bland, same address as driver.
Damage in the 2:47 p.m. crash is estimated between $50,000 and $100,000.
Mailboxes hit
A Fort Recovery woman struck apartment mailboxes with her SUV Friday evening outside of Country Place Apartments, 101 S. Pierce St., Portland.
Amanda K. Wehrkamp, 39, 1105 Benner Road, told a Portland police officer she was backing out of a parking space and did not see the mailboxes before striking them.
Damage in the 6:50 p.m. accident is estimated to be less than $1,000.
Rear-end crash
A Ridgeville man struck Portland driver’s vehicle with the car he was driving Friday afternoon at the intersection of Industrial Drive and Votaw Street in Portland.
Wade T. Hodge, 31, 627 N. Portland St., Ridgeville, was heading east on Votaw Street and told a Portland police officer he noticed the 2007 Chevrolet Equinox in front of him was stopped at the stop light. He was unable to stop in time to avoid striking the rear of the SUV, driven by Elaine A. Brunswick, 58, 604 W. Walnut St., Portland, with the 1999 Honda Civic he was driving.
The Civic is registered to Melissa A. Carter, same address.
Damage in the 12:22 p.m. crash is estimated between $2,500 and $5,000.
