Outlook strong
Motherson Sumi, the Indian auto parts manufacturer that is the parent company of MSSL Wiring Systems in Portland, is expecting more growth in North America and China over the next few years.
“For 2020 we expect more growth coming from North America and China, so the pie which is more skewed towards Europe will get redistributed,” G.N. Gabba, the company’s chief financial officer, told Reuters this week.
Also this week, the company reported a 22 percent rise in net profit to 4.14 billion rupees ($62.1 million) in its fiscal fourth quarter. Net sales rose eight percent to a record 100.7 billion rupees, Reuters reported.

Honda of America, a key customer of FCC (Indiana), has unveiled a new — and very expensive — model.
The new Acura NSX uses a gas-electric hybrid powertrain and is considered a competitor to the Audi R8 and the McLaren 570S. Its twin-turbo V6 is assisted by three electric motors, and Honda says the car can accelerate from zero to 60 in three seconds.
The price tag is in the $150,000 to $200,000 range.

Blood testing woes
Walgreens is facing some headaches after reports that it failed to adequately verify that a new finger prick blood testing technology worked the way it has been advertised.
Theranos, which has the Edison finger prick testing system, struck a deal with Walgreens in 2013, Fortune reported this week.
But now that the technology is under fire, questions have been raised as to whether Walgreens did enough homework in advance.
Walgreees has halted its expansion plans for using the Theranos’ blood testing services, Fortune reported.
The company operates about 8,000 pharmacies in the U.S., including one in Portland.
