Open house will be Saturday

The Jay County Historical Society Museum will hold an open house from 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday at 903 E. Main St. in Portland. 
Stop in and see the new addition.  

Students of Month  
West Jay Middle School named its Students of the Month for September.
In sixth grade was Jaidi Brunson, the daughter of Aaron Brunson and Shelli Leavell.
In seventh grade was Aaron Funkhouser, the son of Lee Funkhouser and Teresa Elmore.
In eighth grade was Sofia Barcus, the daughter of Kevin and Wanda Barcus.   

Cooking, exercise classes
A free healthy cooking and exercise classes will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday for seniors 55 and older.
The class will be held  at the Arthur and Gloria Muselman Wellness Pavilion at Swiss Village in Berne.

Dean’s list
 Tyler D. Aker, Redkey, was named to the dean’s list for the Aug. 2016 session at the University of Northwestern Ohio, in Lima.
