Taking Note

A Halloween party will be held at Jay County Public Library at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
Kids are invited to come in costume. There will be scary stories told, fun activities and treats.
Activities continue through Nov. 11 in honor of the library’s 20th anniversary at its current location, with an appreciation day on Tuesday. Pick a treat and see if you win a prize.
The bookmobile will be at JCPL from 2 to 4 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 1, for parents and grandparents to visit with their children and grandchildren.
Since the bookmobile travels to area schools every two weeks, the library wanted to give parents a chance to visit it with their children.
Nail painting with local artist Kathy Ayers will be held at 4 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 2 at the library.
Ayers illustrated the book “Painting Grandma’s Nails” by author Judy Bruns.
Ayers and Bruns will meet readers and have a nail painting party.
Also a Book Character Pumpkin & Gourd Decorating Contest will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. on Nov. 4 in the Community Room at the library.
Participants can turn a pumpkin or gourd into a character from a book and enter it for a chance to win a $10 gift card.

Pumpkins and gourds will be available or you may bring your own.
Entries can be decorated or painted, but not carved. The deadline entry is Nov. 7.
For more information, call the library at (260)?726-7890.
