Mary Jo Neighbors, 18, Dunkirk, pleaded guilty to theft, a Class A misdemeanor – sentenced Aug. 29 to one year in Jay County Jail with all but 70 days suspended and was given 70 days credit for 35 days already served. She was assessed court costs of $183 and placed on formal probation for nine months.
Ronald C. Brogan, 45, Portland, pleaded guilty to battery resulting in bodily injury, a Class A misdemeanor – sentenced Aug. 29 to one year in Jay County Jail with all but 60 days suspended and was given 48 days credit for 24 days already served. He is to serve the remaining 12 days of his sentence beginning Aug. 29 and was assessed court costs of $183. Brogan was placed on formal probation for 10 months.
Samuel A. Vanhaften, 19, Warren, pleaded guilty to possession of marijuana, a Class B misdemeanor – sentenced Aug. 26 to 180 days in Jay County Jail with all but eight days suspended. He was given eight days credit for four already served and was assessed court costs of $183. He is ordered to pay a drug abuse, prosecution, interdiction and correction fee of $200 as well as $400 for the Jay Superior Court Substance Abuse Program. Vanhaften was placed on formal probation for six months.
Taylor S. Wilson, 22, pleaded guilty to possession of marijuana, a Class B misdemeanor – sentenced to 180 days in Jay County Jail with all but two days suspended. He was given two days credit for one day already served, fined $1 and assessed court costs of $183. Wilson is ordered to pay a drug abuse, prosecution, interdiction and correction fee of $200. He was placed on formal probation for six months.
Mathew E. Cline, Portland, pleaded guilty to possession of marijuana, a Class B misdemeanor – Sentenced to 63 days in Jay County Jail to be served consecutive to previous felony sentence. All but 62 days are suspended and he was given two days credit for one day served. Cline is to serve remaining 60 days on home detention and assessed court costs of $183. He was ordered to pay a drug abuse, prosecution, interdiction and correction fee of $200 and was placed on formal probation for six months. As part of a plea agreement, a charge of driving while suspended was dismissed.
Christopher M. Lessing, 25, Fort Recovery, pleaded guilty to possession of marijuana, a Class A misdemeanor – Sentenced to one year in Jay County Jail with all but 30 days suspended.
He was given two days credit for one day already served and is to begin serving remaining 28 days on Aug. 23. He was assessed court costs of $183 and ordered to pay drug abuse, prosecution, interdiction and correction fee of $200 as well as $400 for Jay Superior Court Substance Abuse Program. As part of a plea agreement, a charge of operating a vehicle while intoxicated was dismissed. He was placed on formal probation for 11 months.
