FORT RECOVERY — Kiah Wendel had been flawless from the service line in her last three matches.
The trend continued on Tuesday.
Wendel, a Fort Recovery High School junior, was a perfect 17-for-17 from the stripe, helping the Indians to a sweep of the visiting Troy Christian Eagles, 25-16, 25-10, 25-10.

Olivia Patch had four kills and one block to lead the Indians, who also got seven service points, four aces and three kills from Val Muhlenkamp. Faith Kahlig added six assists.
Faller is medalist
SIDNEY, Ohio — Austin Faller earned match medalist honors Tuesday, leading the Fort Recovery boys golf team to a 192, 214 victory over the host Houston Wildcats at Shelby Oaks Golf Club.
Faller made par three times, including back-to-back on the par-4 fourth and fifth holes. His only blemish was a double bogey on the par-4 third as he finished with a 43.
Micaiah Cox converted birdie twice, finishing with a 44. He birdied both par 5s, the second and ninth holes.
Harrison Kaup was third on the team with a 52, and Grant Knapke was one stroke behind.
Also competing were Austin Pohl (58) and Calvin Rammel (64).
SA thumps ’Dogs
BERNE — Lexi Dellinger scored six goals Tuesday, leading the South Adams girls soccer team to a 10-1 victory over the New Haven Bulldogs.
It was a career-high scoring total for Dellinger, a junior who had six goals on the season entering the game.
Jenna Myers scored twice and Emilee Myers added one goal for their first career tallies. Ally Weaver also found the back of the net for her second goal of the season.
Tori Reiley, Angel Tinkham and Weaver all recorded assists.
Anna Nussbaum made two saves, helping the Starfires move to 3-2 on the year.
Captain scores twice
NEW HAVEN — Team captain Brian O’Donnell scored a pair of second-half goals Tuesday as the South Adams boys soccer team knocked off New Haven, 2-1.
After a scoreless opening half, O’Donnell scored his seventh goal of the year three minutes after intermission. The senior rifled a shot from 12 yards out after the New Haven keeper misplayed the ball.
Victor Vasquez sent a through pass to O’Donnell for his second goal of the game to give South Adams (3-2) a 2-0 advantage.
The host Bulldogs cut into the lead with a late goal, but the Starfires prevented any further damage.
Junior goalkeeper Lars In’t Groen had five saves.
SA spikers win
BERNE — The South Adams volleyball team won its Allen County Athletic Conference opener on Tuesday, 25-12, 25-17, 25-21, over the visiting Southern Wells Raiders.
Caralie Farlow and Madi Wurster had 11 and 10 kills respectively to lead the Starfires (9-3, 1-0 ACAC). Farlow also had 16 digs and an ace, while Wurster chipped in with three digs, three aces and a block.
Shania Neal led the team with 19 digs, and shared the team-high of four aces with Morgan Alberson. Julia Grabau totaled 30 assists, while Alberson also had five kills and 13 digs.
The South Adams junior varsity team also won, 25-13, 25-21.
Shaelynn Bowman had a team-best 11 kills. Sidney Schwartz totaled 13 assists, and Hannah Dull totaled 13 digs.
Star tennis falls
BERNE — Junior David Muselman earned the only win Tuesday for the South Adams boys tennis team in a 4-1 loss to Adams Central.
Muselman lost the opening set of his No. 1 doubles match to Zach Green 6-4, but rebounded in the next two sets 7-5, 6-3 for his team’s only win.
At No. 2 singles, Aidan Bahre lost to Jared Ripley 6-1, 6-0, and Jack Wallace dropped his No. 3 singles match 6-0, 6-0 to Adam Busse.
Adams Central’s No. 1 doubles team of Jaxson Ringenberger and Cam Burkhart topped Zach Teeple and Jamison Kistler 6-2, 6-1, while Paul Stuckey and Cam Stevens lost to Lucas Harvey and Kyle Arnold 6-1, 6-1 at No. 2 doubles.
In junior varsity action, Wes Stout of South Adams lost both of his matches 6-0, one to Jadon Evans and the other to Brent Yoder.
