Last week vs. Southern Wells: Jay County ran wild to the tune of 411 rushing yards in a 40-12 victory over Southern Wells. Ryan Schlechty (163), Cole Stigleman (143) and Jacob Geesaman (102)?all eclipsed 100 yards, and Schlechty had three rushing touchdowns.
Season leaders: Passing — Holton Hill – 14-for-27 passing for 292 yards, four touchdowns and one interception. Rushing — Cole Stigleman – 25 carries for 229 yards and one touchdown. Receiving — Bryan Stancliffe – four catches for 141 yards and a touchdown. Defense — Ethan Theurer – 36 tackles, two tackles for loss, two fumble recoveries and one sack.

Adams Central Flying Jets
Monroe, 3-0 (0-0 ACAC)
Coach: Michael Mosser, eighth year

Conference: Allen County
Last week at Lapel: Adams Central picked off four passes and held Class 2A No. 7 Lapel to 85 yards of total offense in the second half in a 17-6 victory. Andrew Hammond scored two rushing touchdowns for the state-ranked Jets.
Season leaders: Passing — Andrew Hammond – 3-of-12 for 51 yards, one touchdown and three interceptions. Rushing — Drew Schultz – 78 carries for 300 yards and three touchdowns. Receiving — Blake Bauman – one catch for 21 yards and a touchdown. Defense — Jantz Blackburn – 22 tackles.

Last season: Adams Central racked up 356 yards on the ground and scored five rushing touchdowns in a 43-7 victory over Jay County in Portland. Hunter Bates led the Jets’ three-headed rushing attack with 161 yards. Jay County senior Levi Hummel led the Patriots with 64 yards rushing, and Michael Schlechty caught an 8-yard TD?pass for the only JCHS?score.

Game notes: This is just the third meeting between Jay County and Adams Central, and the Jets have won both, a 48-12 victory in 2014 and last year’s 43-7 win ... Adams Central, which won the program’s first sectional title in four years last season, enters the game ranked fourth in Class 1A ... Jay County’s defense has limited opponents to just 20 points in its last two games, while the Jets have allowed just 34 all season and no more than 14 in a game.
