BERNE — The South Adams High School boys tennis team fell to 3-12 on the season Tuesday in a shutout loss to Blackhawk Christian, 5-0.
At No. 1 singles, junior David Muselman of SAHS lost to Drew Hall 6-3, 6-1. Aidan Bahre lost his No. 2 singles match to Ethan Yousdon 6-1, 6-1. Jack Wallace, the Starfires’ No. 3 singles player, fell to Josh Carlson 6-0. 6-0.
At No. 1 doubles, Zach Teeple and Jamison Kistler lost to Zach Kaufman and Jordan Romines 7-6 (9-7), 6-4. Logan Foote and Levi Messburg of Blackhawk defeated Paul Stuckey and Cam Stout at No. 2 doubles, 6-1, 6-1.
Wes Stout lost both of his junior varsity matches by 6-0 scores.

Star soccer falls
GAS CITY — South Adams’ boys soccer team rallied from a two-goal deficit Tuesday to tie with the host Mississinewa Indians, 3-3.
Three straight goals gave the Indians a 3-1 lead in the first half after Preston Hillery notched his first career score for the Starfires (3-7-1). Victor Vasquez cut into the deficit, tallying his second goal of the season. 
During the second half, Vasquez buried a rebound from Michael Rupp to tie the score with 16 minutes remaining in the contest, and the visitors couldn’t net the go-ahead goal.
Tribe rolls on
VERSAILLES, Ohio — The Fort Recovery Middle School volleyball team’s earned their 10th win of the season Tuesday in beating the Versailles Tigers.
The eighth graders won 25-17, 25-16, and the Tribe seventh graders won 25-13, 22-25, 25-11.
Hope Wendel, Kierra Wendel and Paige Fortkamp had four kills apiece to lead the eighth graders (10-1, 3-1 Midwest Athletic Conference). Kierra Wendel also tallied four aces on her way to a team-high 11 service points. She also led the team with eight digs. 
Brenna Homan added seven points, while Ashlyn Bechtol and Ava Bubp both had four points.
Aubrey Knapke led the FRMS seventh graders (10-1, 4-0 MAC) with six aces and 13 service points. Faith Grube and Grace Guggenbiller had six points each, with Marissa Gaerke and Lilie Leuthold adding five points apiece. Gaerke had a team high 11 kills, and Leuthold chipped in with four.
