FORT RECOVERY — Kierra Wendel won three races in helping the Fort Recovery Middle School girls track team finish first in a quad meet it hosted Monday.
The Indians scored 89 points to place ahead of Russia (60), Arcanum (36) and Fairlawn (27). Fort Recovery’s boys scored 66.5 points to finish runner up to Fairlawn’s total of 78. Arcanum was third with 43 points and Russia fourth with 24.5 points.
Wendel handled the shortest distances, winning the 100-, 200- and 400-yard dash races. She had a time of 14.2 seconds in the 100 dash, 29.1 seconds in the 200 dash and 1 minute, 4 seconds in the 400 dash.
The FRMS 4x400 relay team of Alli Vaughn, Kim Hart, Kyra Clark and Megan Abels won in 5 minutes, with Elena Evers (shot put) and Caitlin Weigel (discus) also earning victories in their respective events.
On the boys side, Owen Moorman won the 400 dash in 1:03.1, Peyton Brunswick was first in the 800 run (2:28.3) and Derek Jutte got a victory in the 110 hurdles in 19.2 seconds.
Regan Martin, Connor Gower, Korbin Dues and Cobe Wendel joined for a victory in the 4x400 relay in 4:34.8.
