ROCKFORD, Ohio — Owen Moorman put himself in the record books.
Moorman set a new school record Saturday, helping the Fort Recovery Middle School boys track team finish third in the Panther Invitational at Parkway High School.
Moorman finished second in the 200-yard dash with a time of 24.92 seconds, beating the previous mark of 25 seconds held by current sophomore Robby LeFevre.
The Indians scored 73 points to finish third behind Lima (141) and Wayne Trace (94). South Adams was fourth with 65.5 points.
Fort Recovery’s girls earned three victories to place second with 90 points. Adams Central won with 137 points, and South Adams placed third with 78 points.
Regan Martin earned the only individual win for the FRMS boys, taking the top spot in high jump with a height of 5 feet, 4 inches. He led a FRMS sweep with Jon Wendel and Logan Homan placing second and third respectively.
Moorman was also second in the 100 dash (11.94) and fourth in the 400 (58.58).
Kierra Wendel, Caitlin Weigel and Elena Evers each won for the FRMS girls.
Wendel beat the field in the 200 dash in 28.92 seconds, Weigel’s distance of 66 feet, 1 inch, won discus and Evers finished first in shot put with a distance of 32 feet, 0.5 inches.
Earning victories for the South Adams girls were Kristin Wynn (100 dash – 13.3) and McKenzie Sturwold (800 run – 2 minutes, 39.4 seconds) and the 4x100 relay team of Madi Smith, Alison Smith, Brooklyn Bixler and Wynn, which had a time of 54.94 seconds.
Carter Lewis won the discus (107 feet, 7.5 inches) and shot put (39 feet, 6.25 inches) as the only two victories for the SAMS boys.
Also scoring for the Fort Recovery girls were Laura Hipple (third – shot put), Alli Vaughn (fourth – high jump), Abbie Francis (fifth – 100 dash), Jackie Homan (fifth – discus), Ashlyn Bechtol (sixth – 200 hurdles), Anna Wendel (seventh – 1,600 run, eighth – long jump), Hanna Metzger (eighth – 1,600 run) and Kierra Wendel (second – 400 dash, third – 100 dash).
Other scorers for the FRMS boys were Jon Wendel (second – high jump), Cobe Wendel (third – 1,600 run), Logan Homan (third – high jump, eighth – shot put), Aidan Sheridan (fourth – shot put), Peyton Brunswick (fifth – 800 run), Clarke Knapke (sixth – discus) and Seth Locthefeld (seventh – 800 run).
Scoring for the South Adams girls were Macie Hirschy (second – 200 hurdles, sixth – 100 hurdles), Alison Smith (third – 400 run, fifth – long jump), Jayla Connor (fourth – 200 hurdles), Josie Grabau (fifth – high jump), Madi Smith (seventh – long jump), Mia Singleton (seventh – 400 dash, eighth – 200 dash), Makayla Hamrick (eighth – shot put) and Sturwold (second – 1,600 run).
