Documentary to be shown on Thursday

State of the Heart Care will present a free community screening of the documentary “Being Mortal” from noon until 2 p.m. Thursday at Jay County Hospital in Community Rooms A and B.

The film underscores the importance of people planning ahead and talking with family members about end-of-life decisions and will be followed by a guided conversation.

Genealogy events continue at Jay County Public Library.

Shirley Dollar will present Share & Show: A Family History Book at 10 a.m. on April 22.

She will share about putting together her family history book. Bring a project if you wish to share.

Genealogy Show &?Tell @ the Jay County Historical Society & Museum will be held at 7 p.m. on April 25.



Lunch and learn

John Jay Center for Learning in Portland is offering a Lunch & Learn Series for seniors 55 and older.

The series is to help seniors become more proficient with electronics, learn new things and meet new friends and will be held from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. on the first Thursday of each month.

Also a free open computer lab will be held from 1 to 3 p.m. the third Thursday of each month for one-on-one help with electronic devices.
