Beulah Banta

Beulah Evon Carr Banta, 94, Schulenburg, Texas, died April 12, at Columbus Community Hospital in Columbus, Texas. She was a former Portland resident.
She was born in Greensburg, Kansas, to Lola and P.L. Carr, she was a 1940 graduate of Greensburg High School and attended Dodge City Junior College.
She married Don Banta on Aug. 20, 1941, and he preceded her in death in January of 2015.
She had worked at Clippard Plant in Paris, Tennessee, and Weiler’s Department Store in Portland and was a member of First Christian Church in Paris, National Square Dancers Association and attended West Walnut Street Church of Christ in Portland. She had helped start a square dancing club in Portland.
Surviving are two sons, Ron Banta (wife: Wendy), and Randy Banta, both of Greensburg; two daughters, Suzanne Smith (husband: Jim), Paris, and Candi Decker, Schulenburg; a sister, Bethel Keller, Greensburg; nine grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
Services are 11 a.m Saturday at Greensburg Christian Church with Pastor Jon Harrison officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery in Greensburg.
Visitation is 5 to 7 p.m. Friday at Fleener Funeral Home in Greensburg.
Memorials may be sent to Greensburg Christian Church, the Twilight Theater in Greensburg or the donor’s choice in care of Fleener Funeral Home, 514 S. Main St., P.O. Box 41, Greensburg, KS 67054.
