Franklins to celebrate 50 years
Orrin and Freda Franklin, 730 S. Main St., Dunkirk, will celebrate 50 years of marriage this week.
Orrin Franklin and Freda Wheeler were wed in Redkey on April 28, 1967. Longtime residents of Jay County, they are the parents of Kevin Franklin, Dunkirk, and Brian Franklin, Middletown, and have six grandchildren.
Orrin worked as a boiler tender at Ball State University, Muncie, until his retirement in 2014. Freda retired from the box shop at Kerr Glass Manufacturing Corp., Dunkirk, in 1998.
They will celebrate with a cookout and a renewal of their wedding vows at 2 p.m. on Saturday, April 29, at their home in Dunkirk.
