Contract approved
Following an executive session Friday, Fort Recovery School Board approved its master contract with Fort Recovery Education Association effective through July 31, 2019.
The contract calls for a 2.5-percent raise for certified staff for the upcoming school year and a 2.5-percent raises again in 2018-19. It also includes raises in insurance contributions of 9 and 10 percent in those years.
Backing accident
A Pennville teen and a Portland man were involved in a vehicle accident Thursday in the parking lot of Crossroads Federal Credit Union in Portland.
Brady J. Vore, 17, 260 E. 2nd St., Lot 25, was backing a 2008 Ford F250 out of a parking space at Crossroads Financial Federal Credit Union, 1102 W. Votaw St., when he inadvertently struck a 2014 Chevrolet Spark that was driving through the parking lot, according to a report from Portland Police Department.
Ernest A. Seelnacht, Jr., 55, 942 W. Race St., Portland, was driving the Spark.
Damage in the 12:04 p.m. accident was estimated between $1,000 and $2,500.
