ARCANUM, Ohio — Kristen Keller and Eryn Litmer began the year with their best scores.
Keller and Litmer fired new career best scores in helping the Fort Recovery High School girls golf team to a 235-249 season-opening victory over the Tri-Village Patriots at Beechwood Golf Course.
Keller paced the Tribe (1-0) with 52, and Litmer trailed her by two strokes.
Becca Wood, playing from the No. 4 spot, shot 63 for Fort Recovery’s third-best score. Sophie Timmerman shot 66 to complete the team score for Fort Recovery.
Lydia Schmitz (70) and Devin Jutte (77) also competed, but they did not factor into the team score.
Andi Bietry of Tri-Village was match medalist with 44.
Indians drop opener
ARCANUM, Ohio — Fort Recovery’s boys golf team started the season with a 181-201 loss to the Arcanum Trojans on Monday at Beechwood Golf Course.
Harrison Kaup led the Indians (0-1) with a career-best 40, which included birdies on both the fourth and ninth holes, both of which are par 5. He was also even on the par-3 second hole.
Grant Knapke made par on four holes, including back-to-back on No. 5 and No. 6, to finish with a career-best 41.
Blayne Tobe (54) and Carson Rammel (66) rounded out the Tribe’s team total.
Derek Lochtefeld (67) and Seth Locthefeld (68) also competed.
