CELINA, Ohio — In the second match of the year, the Indians got their first win.
Fort Recovery High School’s boys golf team improved to 1-1 Friday morning with a 198-214 victory over the Tri-Village Patriots at Mercer County Elks Golf Club.
Harrison Kaup made par five times, including back-to-back on the par-4 sixth and par-3 seventh holes as he earned match-medalist honors with a 42. Playing from the No. 1 spot, Grant Knapke notched par three times as he was three strokes behind his senior teammate.
Carson Rammel and Dylan Ranly rounded out the Tribe’s team score with a 55 and 56 respectively.
Blayne Tobe and Luke Keller also competed but they did not factor into the team core.
Tobe finished with 64, edging Keller by one stroke.
