Michael Jay and Wilburta Ellen Shannon, Dunkirk, are celebrating their 50th anniversary on Saturday.
Michael married Wilburta Sodders on Aug. 26, 1967, at Ridgeville Methodist Church in Ridgeville.
They have been the owners of MJS Mortuaries since 1984, which has locations in Dunkirk, Redkey, Ridgeville and Farmland.
The couple are the parents of four children, Sean Shannon (wife: Emily), Nashville, Tennessee, Jennifer Chamness (husband:?Brent), Farmland, Autumn Wenger (husband; Ryan), Roanoke Rapids, North Carolina, and Ian Shannon (wife:?Erica), Nashville, Tennessee. They have six grandchildren and two stepgrandchildren.
