Beumer accepting intern applications

State Rep. Greg Beumer (R-Modoc) recently announced that the Indiana House Republicans are accepting internship applications for the 2018 legislative session.
The internship program is a paid program held during the spring semester that gives college students the opportunity to work one-on-one with state legislators while seeing how laws are made.
The internships are open to college sophomores, juniors, seniors, graduate students and recent graduates of all majors and are available in a variety of areas focusing on legislative, communications, policy, fiscal policy and technology.
The positions will be Monday through Friday from January through March and will pay $750 every two weeks. Students can also earn academic credit and apply for a $3,000 scholarship.

Support group
A new support group will begin for individuals and families living with diabetes to help reduce stress, depression, anxiety and fatigue and receive practical suggestions or information about treatment options.
It will be held from 11 a.m. to noon beginning Sept. 19 in the Berne Room at Adams Memorial Hospital and will be taught by the hospital’s Certified Diabetes Educator Karen Cox, Pharm. D., CDE.
Meetings will continue each Tuesday on a quarterly basis.

Family LifeCare in Berne will present ‘Understanding Grief,’ a four session grief support group for those 18 and older.
It will be held from 6 to 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 7, 14, 21 and 28 at the office at 108 S. Jefferson in Berne.
