Helen Ashcraft

Helen I. Ashcraft, age 92, a resident of Midland, Michigan, passed away on Saturday, Nov. 25, 2017, at MidMichigan Medical Center in Midland, Michigan. She was a former resident of Portland, Indiana.

Helen was born on Sept. 5, 1925, in Jay County, Indiana, the daughter of Herbert and Wilma (Dunmoyer) Green. She graduated from Poling High School in 1943 and married Morris Ashcraft on April 29, 1945. He preceded her in death on Jan. 10, 2010. She managed Heritage Arms Apartments in Midland, Michigan for over 20 years.

Survivors include:

One daughter — Wilma Artalee Barnes, Midland, Michigan

One son — Stanley Ashcraft (wife: Donna), Clinton Township, Michigan

One brother: John Green, Fort Wayne, Indiana

Four grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren

She was preceded in death by a brother, Keith Green.

Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday at Springhill Cemetery in Fort Recovery. Pastor Steve Arnold will officiate.
