MusicWorks concert is Wednesday

The MusicWorks Holiday Concert will be held at 7 p.m. Wednesday at Hall-Moser Theatre at Arts Place Portland Center.

The Jay County Community Band, Eastern Breeze Flute Ensemble, Brown Paper Sax Saxophone Ensemble, Brassissimo! Trumpet Ensemble and Distant Thunder Percussion Ensemble will be performing holiday pieces.

Refreshments will be served after the concert. Arts Place is located at 131 E. Walnut St.



Brownie decorating

Arts Place is offering a new event as part of an expansion for its 50th anniversary that will be held during the first Thursday event offered by the Jay County Chamber of Commerce.

In honor of National Brownie Day, Arts Place will have brownie decorating between 5:30 and 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 7.



HSE testing

The Indiana High School Equivalency Diploma (HSE) will be updated in January of next year.

Tests can be taken at John Jay Center for Learning in Portland.
