Mary Hiser

Mary E. Hiser, age 94, a former Salamonia resident, passed away Tuesday, Dec. 5, 2017, at The Gardens of Celina, Ohio. 

Mary was born April 11, 1923, the daughter of Francis and Mabel (Norris) Schroeder. She graduated from Madison Township High School in 1941 and worked for 25 years at Jay Garment in Portland before retiring in 1985. Mary was a charter member of the VFW Auxiliary in Salamonia and was a member of First Church of Christ in Fort Recovery, Ohio.

Mary married Delma W. Hiser on April 1, 1942. Delma passed away on June 28, 1988.

Survivors include:

Two sons — Paul L. Hiser, Fort Recovery, Ohio, and Keith E. Hiser (wife: Sharon), Winchester, Indiana

One daughter — Carol Gephart (husband: Bob), Portland, Tennessee 

Twenty-three grandchildren, several great-grandchildren and several great-great-grandchildren 

Visitation will be held on Saturday from noon to 1 p.m. at the First Church of Christ in Fort Recovery, Ohio. A memorial service will follow at 1 p.m. on Saturday at the Church. Burial will be at a later date in the Salamonia Cemetery in Salamonia.
