OSSIAN — Another meet, another girls victory.
Jay County High School’s girls swim team kept its perfect record intact on Thursday with a 105-70 win over the host Norwell Knights.
The Patriot boys lost, 114-71.
Alex Bader and Ashlyn Dow both had a pair of individual victories. Bader was first in the 200-yard individual medley and the 100 freestyle, while Dow had wins in the 500 freestyle and 100 breaststroke.
Erica Hathaway (200 freestyle), Eliza Bader (50 freestyle), Mackenzie Knisely (diving) and Elizabeth McDowell (100 butterfly) won their respective events as well.
The Baders joined Vivienne Kunkler and Dow for a win in the 200 freestyle relay, and teamed with Hathaway and McDowell to finish first in the 200 medley relay.
On the boys side, Skyler Myers and Garrett Campbell earned the only two Patriot victories. Myers won the 50 freestyle, and Campbell picked up a win in the 100 freestyle.

BERNE — The South Adams boys and girls swim teams each won double-digit events Thursday in beating the Huntington North Vikings.
The Starfire boys won 11 of the 12 events for a 110-57 victory, while the girls took 10 events in a 100-80 win.
Brayden Collingsworth, Kam Yoder and Zach Colpaert all placed first in a pair of events. Collingsworth handled the 200- and 500-yard freestyle races, Yoder won the 200 individual medley and 100 butterfly and Colpaert took care of the sprints (50 and 100 freestyle).
Tyler Yoder (diving), Trey Lehman (100 backstroke) and Curtis Sprunger (100 backstroke) were also first in their respective races.
Bella Bailey (200 freestyle, 100 breaststroke), Olivia Von Gunten (200 IM, 500 freestyle) and Ashley LeFever (100 butterfly, 100 backstroke) each had a pair of victories. Isabel Von Gunten and Julia Grabau were first in 50 freestyle and diving respectively.

MONROE — South Adams’ girls basketball team blasted county and conference rival Adams Central on Thursday, 62-28.
The Starfires (7-3, 3-0 Allen County Athletic Conference) jumped out to a 23-2 lead after the opening quarter and pushed the advantage to 35-9 at the half. The Jets (2-7, 0-3 ACAC) were able to get a bit of offense going in the third quarter, but SAHS still had a 14-11 edge in scoring in the period.
Lexi Dellinger led all players with 22 points, including three baskets from long range. Madi Wurster joined her in double figures with 17 points, and Lydia Loshe chipped in nine points.
South Adams’ junior varsity team also won, 44-26. Loshe and Emilee Myers led the Starfires with 10 and nine points respectively. Kelsa Ortiz contributed eight points.
