A. Donabelle Cortner, 94, Albany, died Friday, Dec. 8, 2017, at Albany Health Care and Rehabilitation Center.
Born in Blackford County on Oct. 10, 1923, she graduated from Royerton High School in 1941 and attended Indiana Business College. She retired at age 80 from Beebe Title Co. (now Indiana Title Co.), Muncie, where she was a land title abstractor and former vice president. Donabelle was a member of Albany Christian Church and had belonged to B.P.W. (Business Professional Women), Tri Kappa sorority, Muncie Moose Lodge and American Legion Auxiliary Post 227, Dunkirk. She enjoyed crafts, crocheting and ceramics.
Survivors include a son, Greg Cortner (wife: Debbie), McCordsville; a daughter, Marcia Lee (husband: Mike), Redkey; a sister, Martha Huston (husband: Rex), Albany; six grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Marshall P. Cortner, who died in 1961. Also deceased are her daughter, Debra Lynn Hatfield; her parents, William and Marcia Fishback; a brother, Harold E. Fishback; and her grandson, Jason Allen Cortner.
Services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 13, 2017, at Meacham Funeral Service with burial following at Black Cemetery.
Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. at the funeral home.
