Donald Louis Wolfgang, 89, of Dunkirk, died Friday afternoon, Dec. 15, 2017 at IU Health Blackford Hospital.
He was born March 29, 1928, in Hamilton, Indiana, and was the son of the late Clarence Heber and Amelia (Schwartz) Wolfgang.
Donald was a farmer who loved to raise a big garden and share his produce with everyone. He worked for 3M Products for 28 years of dedicated service. Donald enjoyed woodworking, hunting and fishing. He loved spending time with his family and was very proud of his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Donald proudly and honorably served his country in the United States Army during the Korea Conflict.
Donald is survived by his five children, Janet K. Merchant (Tom) of Hartford City, Toni Wolfgang (Brenda) of Portland, Jay Wolfgang (Lori) of Pennville, Bonnie J. Wolfgang of Edwardsburg, Michigan, and Nancy L. Peterson (Tom) of Lawrence, Michigan; nine grandchildren, Mandy Taylor, Preston Merchant, Todd Stephenson, Amy Haberstich, Elizabeth Davis, Naomi Wolfgang, Samuel Wolfgang, Gwendolyn Cox and Kalvin Peterson; six great-grandchildren; a special friend, Doris Case of Hartford City; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Velma Gale (Brown) Wolfgang, his second wife, Mary Jean (Thomas) Hall-Wolfgang; a grandson, Tim Stephenson; and four sisters and four brothers.
Funeral services for Donald will be held Wednesday, Dec. 20, 2017, at 10 a.m. at Garden View Funeral Home, 10501 N. Indiana 3, Muncie, Indiana. Burial will follow in Gardens of Memory Cemetery. Family and friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 19, 2017 at the funeral home.
