Kids will get a chance to show their creative skills beginning Wednesday at Jay County Public Library with Cardboard Creations.

Stacks of cardboard boxes will be available in the Community Room for a drop-in building activity.

Hours are 2 to 6 p.m. Wednesday, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Thursday and Friday and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday. The activity will pick up again after Christmas from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Dec. 26, 27 and 28. 

The library is located at 315 N. Ship St. in Portland.



Free classes

English Language Learners classes are held at John Jay Center for Learning, 101 S. Meridian St. in Portland.

The free classes are designed for those who speak English as a second language to improve written, communication and social skills. They are held from 7 to 8 p.m. each Monday and from 4 to 5:30 p.m. each Wednesday.
