Florence Gooding
Florence Alice Gooding, 88, of Portland, passed away at 7:30 a.m., Sunday, December 24, 2017 at Crowne Pointe, Portland.
Florence was born in Ohio, on October 1, 1929, a daughter of the late Eva (Dudley) and Kenneth Hodgson.
She was a 1948 graduate of Portland High School, and the widow of Loren K. Spahr, Walter Reynolds, and Wilbur Gooding.
Florence was an avid quilter, enjoyed crocheting, needle point, crafts and gardening. Above all others she loved spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Florence is survived by two sons David Keith, husband of Kandy Spahr, of Roscoe, Illinois, and Loren Michael, husband of Zina Spahr, of Portland; a sister, Mary Vore, of Albany; a brother, Kenneth D. Hodgson, Portland; and five grandchildren, Hannah Hughes (husband: Nathan), Kristen Gibson (husband: Josh), Keith Spahr, Lauren Ferner (husband: Brent), Angela Spahr and three great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, first husband Loren K. Spahr who died in 1978; second husband Walter Reynolds who died in 1986; third husband Wilbur Gooding who died in 1993, three brothers, John, George, William Hodgson and five sisters, Nellie Grile, Bertha Bivens, Frances McAbee, Martha Hildgo, and Linnie Schisler
Funeral services will be at MJS Mortuaries - Redkey Chapel at noon on Saturday, with Pastor Flint Redwine officiating.
Friends are invited to call Saturday from 10 a.m. to noon at MJS Mortuaries - Redkey Chapel.
Burial will follow in Claycomb Cemetery, rural Portland.
