Mac warning
In a rare move this week, McDonald’s is telling customers not to eat the food at 169 of its restaurants in India.
The fast-food giant said there are “serious compliance risks” at restaurants operated by an Indian franchise partner known as Connaught Plaza Restaurants.
CPRL and McDonald’s India have been in a legal battle for years, and the franchise agreement was terminated four months ago.
"Since the termination of the franchise agreement, McDonald's India has not been able to verify if the unauthorized McDonald's restaurants operated by CPRL in north and east India are complying with applicable McDonald's standards, including those pertaining to supplies, operations and safety standards, and quality required for McDonald's products," the company said in a press release.
Expanding
Dollar General Corporation is planning a new distribution center in Texas, which will create approximately 400 new jobs.
The company announced this week it will build a 1 million square foot distribution center in Longview, Texas, which will serve about 1,000 Dollar General retail locations in Texas and the southeast U.S. Construction will begin in early 2018. It will be Dollar General’s 17th distribution facility and its second in Texas.
Defraud
Washington state’s attorney general has accused Comcast of defrauding thousands of its customers in the state.
According to a new filing, the company signed customers up for $5 per month service plans without their consent. The repair plan offered virtually no services, and customers were signed up without being told about the plan or after refusing the plan.
The additional claims are part of an ongoing lawsuit filed in August 2016. According to Fortune, more than 500,000 customers in Washington have paid $73 million for the plans.
