Eleanor Ann Moore

March 31, 1936-Dec. 28, 2017

Eleanor Ann Moore, age 81, of Arcadia, Indiana, passed away Thursday, December 28, 2017 at Miller's Merry Manor at Tipton.

She was born March 31, 1936 at Noblesville to Floyd Cecil and Margaret Emma (Pritchard) Fox. She was a graduate of Walnut Grove High School with the Class of 1954, then attended Ball State University.

She had worked most of her life as a bookkeeper, first for McMahon Foods, then for Culligan Water Conditioning and lastly for Aqua Systems all at Noblesville, IN.  She also started and was the first director of First United Methodist Church Pre-school at Noblesville.

Leading a very active life, she was a member of First United Methodist Church where she also sang in the church choir.  She was a very accomplished musician, playing both the piano and violin.  She was a supporter of the Hamilton Heights High School Band and served as treasurer of the Band Boosters for several years.

She enjoyed doing word search puzzles and playing the game of Scrabble.  She often sent greeting cards with uplifting messages and personal notes to family and friends and she loved to display cheerful banners on her porch of the seasons and various birds.  She cherished family gatherings and her family attested to her being a great cook, and especially looked forward to her apple dumplings and raspberry cobblers.

She married Russell Duane Moore on October 8, 1955.  He survives her.  Additional survivors include a son: Philip Gene (wife: Dana) Moore of Arcadia, Indiana; daughters: Jamie Annette (husband: Kelly) Smeltzer of Portland and Julie Lorraine Dunn of London, Arkansas; a sister: Mary Jane (husband: Evan) Farmer of Fort Wayne; grandchildren Joshua, Matthew, and Christina Moore, Elisabeth Parobechek, Jessica Archuleta, Patrick Yarbrough, Chase and Sierra Dunn, Katy and Tayler Smeltzer; 14 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by sisters, Phyllis Jacobs, Linda Fox and Evelyn Fox and brothers, Kenneth Fox and Robert Fox.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, January 3, 2018 at at 10:30 a.m. at Arcadia Church of the Brethren, 8989 East 266th Street, Arcadia, Indiana 46030 with Pastor Charles Hoover officiating.  Burial will follow at Arcadia Cemetery.  Visitation will be from 3 to 7 p.m. Tuesday also at the Church.  Memorial contributions may be made to First United Methodist Church, Noblesville, Indiana.
