East Jay routs Blackford
The Chiefs were simply too much for the Bruins.
East Jay Middle School’s sixth grade boys basketball teams both picked up lopsided wins against the Blackford Bruins on Thursday.
The Chief A team won 74-21, with the B squad earning a 42-22 victory.
Dusty Pearson led the EJMS A team with 14 points, with Blake Bogenschutz and Carter Link close behind with 13 and 12 points respectively. Bennett Weitzel and Peter Muhlenkamp joined them in double figures with 10 points.
Josh Dowlen and Matthew Fields contributed eight points each in support. Simon Dirksen scored six points, Brady Davis tallied five points and Matthew Perod had two points.
Conner McFarland led the B squad with 11 points, and Koby Lewellen was second on the team with eight points.
Allen Dues and Mitchell Brunswick had six and five points respectively, with Caleb Darnell adding four points. Cameron Smitley, Isaac Kunkler, Jay Goodrich and Sebastian Solis had two points apiece.
