Local notes

Register now for Boomer soccer

Registration is now ongoing for Boomer soccer at Jay Community Center.

Soccer is open to boys and girls ages 3 through 14. Games will be played on Saturdays from April 8 through May 13.

Cost is $50, and includes a soccer ball. Shin guards are mandatory.

Deadline to register is March 12.

Sprint to Spring is April 8

The first race in the Run Jay County 5K Circuit is the Sprint to Spring 5K on April 8.

Cost is $15 without a shirt, or $20 with a shirt on or before March 20. After this date, cost increases by $5.

Race day registration begins at 7:30 a.m. at Jay Community Center. The race, which starts at JCC and goes through Hudson Family Park, begins at 8:30 a.m.
