The exhibit “Student and Mentor” is on display  through March 12 at Arts Place, 131 E. Walnut St. in Portland.

The exhibit will feature printmaking of Ball State University professors Sarojini Jha Johnson and David Johnson and their students Teddy Lesley, Erin McAtee, Sarah Fischer and Mary Arnett. 

Arts Place is open from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Friday. For more information, call visual arts director Kimberly Anderson at (260) 726-4809.



Club news

Jay County Public Library clubs meeting this month include JayCPL Book Club at 7 p.m. on Monday. It will discuss “A Man Called Ove” by Fredrik Backman.

Writer’s Guild will meet at 6:30 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 27, to write an author’s bio. 

Hooks & Needles Club  will meet from 5 to 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 28. Bring a project or learn to crochet from one of the club’s crafters.



Participated

Two area students recently participated in the University of Findlay (Ohio) Physical Therapy Program’s Annual Research Forum.

Shelby Brunswick and Shane Stein, both of Fort Recovery, were part of the program that promotes clinical research among students, faculty and community to foster and support evidence-based practice. 




MusicWorks recital

Arts Place in Portland has rescheduled its MusicWorks Honors Recital for 7 p.m. on March 8 in the Hall-Moser Theatre.

The free recital will include performances from area students.
