REDKEY, INDIANA

ORDINANCE 2017-2

An Ordinance for the Regulation of Town Electrical Supplies.

WHEREAS, the Town of Redkey maintains electrical supplies and electrical boxes and various locations within the Town of Redkey. including the Town Park and gazebo; and,

WHEREAS, unauthorized access has caused damage to these outlets and boxes and the Town wishes to regulate access to said outlets. and boxes,

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COMMON COUNCIL, OF THE TOWN OF REDKEY, JAY COUNTY, INDIANA THAT:

It shall be unlawful for anyone other than a Town Employee or an individual designated and authorized by the Town Council to open, access, damage, or otherwise tamper with any electrical supply outlet or box located on Town Property.

Any person found in violation of this Ordinance may be fined a sum not to exceed $250.00. For each subsequent violation, a person found in violation of this ordinance may be ?ned a sum not to exceed $500.00. Nothing in this ordinance shall preclude the Town from pursuing any additional remedy against a person who damages or tampers with the Town’s electrical supply.

This Ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage and publication as required by law.
