Perusing through the Fort Recovery High School record book, Elijah Kahlig’s name can be seen in multiple places.
He now has a place in Oilers’ history.
Kahlig, a 2014 Fort Recovery graduate, set a new University of Findlay single-game record for most 3-pointers without a miss Monday, helping the UF men’s basketball team defeat Carlow 120-67.
The former Indian made all six of his shots from long range to finish with 18 points. He broke Aaron Robinson’s record of a 5-for-5 outing on Dec. 8. 2012. Kahlig also had three of the Oilers’ school record 33 assists, while recording two steals and one rebound.
The junior, who has started each of the last seven contests for the Oilers (10-3, 4-2 Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference), pushed his season scoring average to 11 points per game
Scott Schwieterman
Jay County – 2013
Came up just a point short of his season high Wednesday as the Indiana Tech men’s basketball team topped Lawrence Tech 86-66.
Schwieterman shot 8-of-13 from the field for 19 points — he has scored 20 twice previously this year — in 24 minutes of play. He also had four rebounds, one block and one assist.
The junior finished with 10 points and one rebound Monday as the Warriors (12-5) fell 82-78 to Shawnee State.

Helped the University of St. Francis men’s basketball team reach the finals of the Bellevue Classic.
Comer led the Cougars (14-3) with six assists and added 10 points Dec. 29 in a 93-80 victory over MidAmerica Nazarene in the tournament semifinal. He also grabbed four rebounds.
The senior had two points, two assists and four rebounds Friday as USF fell 69-68 to the host Bruins in the tournament championship. He totaled two points, one assist, one rebound and one steal Wednesday in a 101-91 victory over Grace.
Cindy In’t Groen
South Adams – 2016
Set a career high in scoring for the Huntington University women’s basketball team Saturday in its 88-45 victory over Greenville.
The freshman was 4-for-5 from the field for eight points, while also grabbing three rebounds. She tallied one assist and one steal as well.
In’t Groen had one assist Dec. 29 as the Foresters (8-8, 2-3 Crossroads League) lost to IU East, 101-92.
Abby Wendel
Jay County – 2016
Made the most of her limited action to finish second in assists for the University of Rio Grande women’s basketball team Wednesday in its 83-67 victory over Salem International.
Wendel played nearly 10 minutes off the bench and recorded five assists. She also had one offensive rebound and did not take a shot from the field. The five helpers matched her career high set Nov. 9.
The Red Storm (10-6) have won each of their last four games.
Catherine Dunn

Was second in scoring and rebounds for the Brescia University women’s basketball team Dec. 29 in its 63-40 loss to Mount Union.
The sophomore was 3-for-12 from the field and made both of her free throws to finish with eight points, behind only Kelsey Kirkpatrick’s 16. Dunn also tied for second with four rebounds and tallied four steals.
She also had six points, a career-high eight rebounds, three assists and one steal as the Bearcats (2-15) lost to Mount St. Joseph 52-46 on Friday.
He now has a place in Oilers’ history.
