Events are coming to JCPL

Valentine events are coming in February to Jay County Public Library.
The Facebook contest “How I Met My Valentine” begins Wednesday and continues through Valentine’s Day. Get a link to a form on the JCPL Facebook page and write your story in 300 words or less. The prize will be gift cards to local businesses.
A scavenger hunt for hearts will begin Feb. 6 at the library. Participants receive a Valentine pencil.Also adults can guess the number of chocolate kisses and children the number of candy hearts in a contest beginning Wednesday.
A movie night will be held at 6 p.m. on Feb. 8 with the showing of “Lady and the Tramp.” Popcorn will be offered.
Events for children include a “What I Love” collage that will be constructed from 2:30 to 7:30 p.m. on Feb. 9. Squares of paper will be filled with pictures from magazines, stickers or original ideas.Also a selfie photo booth will held all day on Feb. 10 in the children’s gallery.
Valentine crafts can be made from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Feb. 11. Supplies will be available to make a sun catcher, a catcraft and paper plate monkey.
Learn how to play the card game “Hearts” from 4 to 7 p.m. on Feb. 13.

A county-wide reading challenge will begin Wednesday at Fort Recovery Public Library for those 50 and older. Fill out an entry form and check out books,audio books or digital books. The contest continues through March 1. Prizes will be given.
