Arts in the Park is still offering classes

Arts Place Portland Center still has openings available for its Arts in the Parks sessions.

Classes will be held the week of July 17 in Fort Recovery, Portland, New Bremen, Ohio, and St. Marys, Ohio, for children ages six through 12.

Mask Making and Miming will be held from 9 to 10 a.m. on July 19, 20 and 21 at Fort Recovery Community Park shelter number 5 and from 1:30 to 3 p.m. at  Arts Place Portland Center.

Also held in Portland will be Dancing with Elements from 3:30 to 5 p.m. on July 19, 20 and 21 and Family Yoga from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. on July 17, 18 and 19.

Blackford art events 

An exhibit of artwork by juried artists will begin Monday, July 24, at Arts Place Blackford County Arts Center. The exhibit will continue through Sept. 14.

Also a Summerfest reception will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday, July 28, for Blackford High School students to have their annual Silent Auction. Awards will be presented at 6:30 p.m.

The Silent Auction will continue from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, July 29, with bids announced at 3:30 p.m.

The Blackford County Arts Center is located at 107 W. Washington St. in Hartford City. The center is open Monday and Thursday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.; Tuesday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and 3 to 7 p.m.; Wednesday from 3 to 7 p.m.; and the second Saturday of each month from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Performance series

The 2017-2018 Performance Series “Arts Place is Golden” has been announced for  Arts Place Portland Center and season tickets are available.
