Correction
A felony arrest item in Wednesday’s edition of The Commercial Review included incorrect information.
Aaron L. Wilhelm, 29, 122 S. Hayes St., Portland, was not arrested, as previously reported. His name was incorrectly listed on a Jay County Sheriff’s Office arrest report.
Theft
A Portland woman reported the theft of an electronic device from her home.
Yonda Romine, 604 Katelyn Drive, told Portland Police Department on Wednesday that a tablet had been stolen from her home. She noticed the device, worth $80, was missing Saturday.
Deer struck
A Geneva man struck a deer Saturday night with his car.
Norman G. Bergman, 46, 215 W. Harrison St., told Jay County Sheriff’s Office he was traveling northeast on Mount Pleasant Road near its intersection with county road 350 South when a deer ran out into the roadway. He was unable to avoid striking it with his 2006 Chevrolet Trailblazer.
Damage in the 11:55 p.m. accident is estimated between $1,000 and $2,500.
