Principal to attend leadership training
Taking Note
The principal of Redkey Elementary has been selected to participate in the Fifth Cohort of the Indiana Principal Leadership Institute at Indiana State University’s Bayh College of Education.
Jan McGalliard was chosen as one of 59 principals to participate in the IPLI Cohort this month.
The event will be led by 11 experienced Indiana school leaders.
The Indiana Principal Leadership Institute is a two-year experience designed to address the professional needs of Indiana public school principals with an emphasis on student success and will increase a principal’s capacity to address the needs of their school.
“Principals play a significant role in enhancing student achievement,” said Linda Marrs-Morford, executive director of the Indiana Principal Leadership Institute. “Based on the initial results from our first three years, we are already making an impact as our principals lay the groundwork to completely implement policies and procedures that will put their schools on a path to not just better performance, but a place where the whole child can learn and grow.”
To share
Author Suzi Parron will share about quilt trails at 6 p.m. Monday at Jay County Public Library, 315 N. Ship St. in Portland.
Parron has written “Barn Quilts” and “Following the Barn Quilt Trail” and will share more than 100 barn quilt square photos during her presentation.
